Another lovely day for us . . .
Coventry Cocker Spaniel Club held their Championship show today.
Morris (Molkara Exige) & Sophie (Lindridge Carnival Queen) attended.
Judges were Jane Simmonds (Shenmore) bitches & Derek Shapland (Deracor) bitches.
Nutty Morris achieved 2 x 2nd places, but Sophie won the Minor Limit class, then went on to win the RCC!!! We are so pleased with this lovely girl & very grateful to Angie, for trusting us with one of her precious pups!

Apologies for the lack of news in the last couple of months, it has been a busy time for us here.
In September I attended the World Show in Bratislava, staying with Gabor & Rita in Gyor, Hungary. What a lovely time I had with them & they made my stay in their beautiful home very enjoyable, my sincere thanks go to them for their superb hospitality, not to mention the fabulous home-made Goulash!
We have a couple of new additions too, Esta the Bracco Italiano puppy can be seen on her page & Emily's new puppy Fen can be seen on Emily's page.
The shows we have attended have been quite successful for Morris & Sophie, culminating in Sophie (Lindridge Carnival Queen) gaining her 1st CC under Sharon Pinkerton (Bareve) at Rotherham Cocker Championship Show! Both myself & Angela Hackett (her breeder & co-owner) are very pleased & proud.

National Gundog had two judges, Frank Whyte judging bitches & Carol Coode the dogs.
I took Morris (M. Exige) & Sophie (L. Carnival Queen) both were placed 2nd in their classes, MPD & PGB respectively.
On the 25/7/09, Leeds Ch Show was held.
The rain stayed away & Morris (M.Exige) won the MPD class - he was highly delighted to be showing on grass - a little too delighted!!!
Sophie (L.Carnival Queen) was 3rd in P.Grad bitch.
Judge was Mr G. Griffiths

Yesterday was one of the showing highlights of the year - The Cocker Spaniel Club Championship show.
Emily & took four dogs.
1st in the ring was M. Silver Laced, she was placed 5th in the AOC puppy class.
M. Gold Laced was 3rd in AC Puppy, thus qualifying for Crufts 2010.
Lindridge Carnival Queen was 2nd in a very good Post Graduate Class.
The best part of the day for me was showing my new baby boy, Molkara Exige, at his very 1st show, he behaved like a star & moved happily & stood well & was placed 2nd in the MPD class & has also qualified for Crufts 2010!
Judges were Dogs - Keith Costello (Judika) & bitches - Jackie Rowland (Perrytree).
Many thanks to them both.

East Of England Ch Show was judged by Barbara Ward (Wensum).

The weather remained dry but windy for Three Counties Ch. Show. The judge chosen to sort through Cocker Spaniels was Sue Kettle (Lujesa).
We took Lacey (Molkara Silver Laced) & Sophie (Lindridge Carnival Queen).
Lacey was very naughty on the move, as usual, but was shortlisted in the large puppy bitch class.
Sophie won the Post Graduate bitch class & then in the final challenge was awarded the RBCC.
Thanks to Sue for a lovely day. I hope to have pictures to post soon.

The following is a text I received today . . . . . .

"Dear Kim, Eric made today ability test for hunting. So now you can be proud for new Czech Beauty Champion!"

That was from Alexandra Zemanova at Kennel Dermott, about Molkara Tamarillo.
Me proud?? . . . You bet!

It was Birmingham National's 150th anniversary show. John Gillespie (Lochranza) was in charge of the Cocker ring.
I had decided to take Otis (Molkara B'Daring), Sophie (Lindridge Carnival Queen) & baby Flora (Molkara Fright Night).
Otis managed a 4th place in Graduate, Sophie gained her Stud Book Number in a very strong Limit class, by being placed 3rd.
Flora (aka FloraDoraNora!) was at her 1st show at just 6 mths & a week old & was placed 2nd behind Michael Parkinson & Brian Dillon's new Frankie daughter. I was delighted, she has now also qualified for Crufts 2010.

I had a lovely text on Friday, from Alexandra Zemanova in Czech republic. She has taken Eric (M. Tamarillo) to the show in Prague. Linda Robinson (Jozelah) had been the judge & had awarded Eric the CACIB, I was thrilled & I know that Alexandra was! There is a photo on Eric's page.

Then yesterday we went to Cheshire Cocker Ch. Show, judges there were A. Hackett - dogs & L.Parker (Weyhill) - bitches.
Otis was 2nd in Grad, but baby Harry (Molkara Night Spell) was 3rd in MPD at just 6 mths of age a great result for him & his owners Sarah & Phil Amatt.
Lacey was her naughty self but managed to do enough to win the MPB class & Reserve Best Puppy Bitch. Many thanks to Lin Parker for forgiving her naughtiness!

Yesterday we had a good day at E.Anglian Cocker Ch Show.
Dog judge was John Cahill (Yardew) & Sue Shinkfield (Notrella) was the bitch judge.
4 of the show team attended . . . . Otis (M. B'Daring) was placed 2nd in Solid Graduate.
Lily & Lacey (M. Gold Laced & M. Silver Laced) were in a big MPB class, both were shortlisted & then Lacey placed 2nd & thus qualifying for Crufts 2010 (I hope she learns to move without leaping & ground sniffing by then!!!)
Sophie (Lindridge Carnival Queen) won Post Grad. which was another big class.
10/04/09
An open show for us today, Val Flowers (Totenkopf) was the Cocker Spaniel judge & she had pulled a good entry.
I took Lily & Otis, both were placed 2nd in their classes, I was especially pleased with Lily's result, as it was a well filled puppy dog or bitch class.
4/4/09
Midland Counties Open Show was held today. Jean Stevens (Grolucky) was the appointed judge.
Only Lacey & Otis attended, Lily was entered but I decided not to take her as she is a little overweight.
So Lacey was in The AOC Puppy Dog or Bitch class, as Lily had been entered in the Minor Puppy class. To my delight, although she was erratic on the move, she was placed 1st.
Otis was in the junior Dog or Bitch class, he was a silly boy & was convinced someone was in season! Still he managed a 4th place . . . . boys!!!!
17/03/09
On Saturday we travelled to Wales for the S.Wales & Monmouth Ch Show.
Judges were Frank Kane, dogs & Linda Robinson, bitches.
It was Lily & Lacey's very 1st show. they were entered in a class of 24 minor puppy bitches. They both were very happy, Lily was handled by Sarah Clinton (Oramiss) & went very well for her, I think Sarah was a little bit in love!
Lacey stood well but was not as steady on the move as her sister, however she did make the shortlist.
Otis was entered in Junior Dog & won his class which I was very pleased with.
08/03/09
Yesterday was another exhausting Crufts.
Judges this year were both from Finland. Mrs A. Koskelo was judging dogs & Mrs A. Puumala was judging the bitches.
Otis (Molkara B'Daring) & Sophie (Lindridge Carnival Queen), were the two dogs we took this year.
Otis was unplaced in his class, but Sophie won a very respectable 2nd in her Post Graduate class. Both showed their socks off & I was very proud of them.

It was lovely to see all our friends from here & across the world.
26/2/09 Not News, but a timely warning . . . .

An expert on snakes and has said that it's time to warn people that adders are out and very toxic.

They will still be in the area of their hibernation, particularly roots of silver birch, and heathland and there can be up to about 20 of them in one place.
If the weather gets colder, they will stay around there until it warms up,then they will disperse in small groups of 3 -4 until they have found a mate then eaten.

If a dog gets bitten at this time,it is unlikely to survive, unless very prompt treatment can be given, and as the snakes are very sluggish, they will be very slow moving.

Please cross post to any other Groups that this might be of value to.

Hopefully none of us will be unfortunate enough to come across the problem.

At last we have been to a show!!!
It was the Particoloured Cocker Ch Show, which despite it's name is open to all colours.
Only Otis (Molkara B'Daring) was shown & he gained a 2nd in his class. I was delighted to see that Tracey Herd's Frankie daughter Quintavia Rock N Rose won her minor puppy bitch class.
Michael Parkinson & Brian Dillon's famous Frankie daughter, Sh Ch Dillonpark Ambrogina JW was awarded the bitch CC & Best In Show. - Well done everyone.

Lily & Lacey came along for the ride & experience & to meet their "Granny" Angie Hackett!
